Teri
BA, MACP, LCT-C, CCC
Teri (she/her) holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sports and Exercise Psychology (UNB, ‘05), and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Before she returned to school to become a counselling counsellor, Teri worked for 15 years as a primary care paramedic in New Brunswick. She is a certified yoga instructor and has trained in ASIST (applied suicide intervention skills training).
She is passionate about helping clients discover their strengths and learn new tools to create the change they want in their lives. Teri is especially interested in helping people work on challenges relating to depression and anxiety (including health care anxiety), trauma and grief, improving the mind-body connection, goal setting and boundaries, and working through general life changes. When working with clients, she uses a trauma-informed, biopsychosocial-cultural approach, drawing from positive theory, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), feminist theory, and mindfulness-based practices.
Teri is keen to expand her skills in working with members of the LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and recently settled communities, as well as with couples and children/youth.
