Sara holds a Master of Education degree in Counselling from the University of New Brunswick and is a Licensed Counselling Therapist with the College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick and member of the Canadian Counselling Psychotherapy Association. Sara has been a part of the Family Plus clinical team as a contract therapist for over 10 years. Sara’s approach to counselling is one of an eclectic and integrated approach ensuring she is able to attend to the unique needs of a client. Sara believes the therapeutic relationship formed with individuals is the foundation for therapy. Her practice involves working with individual, couples, and families who are facing life challenges. Over the past decade Sara has developed a strong knowledge base for work with individuals who are transgender/gender variant. She has strong collaborations with regional paediatric endocrinologists in the province and can guide clients and families in accessing medical intervention(s) as desired. Sara lives her life recognizing that the only way out is through and that avoidance can serve as a huge roadblock when working to master life’s challenges. In her spare time Sara enjoys golfing, kayaking, spending time with her friends and family, travelling, and volunteering (much of which is done in a sport setting).
