Raisa
BCom, MBA, MACP, LCT-C
Raisa has her Bachelor of Commerce degree, an MBA, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She completed her internship from Just Us; We All Struggle Inc. where she saw clients from all walks of life. During her practicum, Raisa had the opportunity to work with the newly arrived community to the Saint John area. Being an immigrant herself (coming from Bangladesh), Raisa is passionate about continuing to work with the newly arrived population.
Raisa often uses an eclectic approach to counselling, depending on the individual needs of the client, incorporating aspects of CBT, person-centred, humanistic, and mindfulness-based/self-care practices to their sessions. Raisa is fluent in Bengali, Hindi, and English and can offer an opportunity for clients, whose first language is not English, a chance to seek therapy. Raisa firmly believes that meaning can be derived from life experiences and that allows us to rewrite and take control of our stories. She strives to provide a sense of safety, hope and increased confidence for clients through each of their healing journeys.
