Kristen is a registered social worker who graduated from Dalhousie University with distinction in 2016. Prior to beginning her work at Family Plus, she worked with children, families, and older adults for over 7 years in child welfare and adult services. This experience was extremely valuable in developing her skills and passion for supporting individuals from various backgrounds with complex trauma.

Kristen is the Legal Support Navigator for the Independent Legal Advice (ILA)+ program. She works from an anti-oppressive perspective, incorporating feminist, social justice, and trauma-informed practice to support survivors of sexual violence navigate their options and justice systems. In her role, she also collaborates with community partners to advocate for client-centered, trauma informed services. She is currently undertaking her Masters of Social Work.
