Karen is a graduate from the Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology program and is working toward her designation as a Licensed Counselling Therapist. Karen is passionate about working with children and youth, and holds experience in working with vulnerable individuals, both from her previous work as a Child Life Assistant for 10 years, and from working with Family and Child Education as an in-home Educator for 3 years.

Karen holds a certificate in Early Childhood education from NBCC, an Arts degree from UNBSJ, and a Masters in Counselling from Yorkville University. Karen excels at connecting with those around her and offers a safe, positive, and judgment free space for clients. She also works with individuals impacted by sexual violence and aspires to further her expertise in this field.

As a previous practicum student with Family Plus, Karen says “I love the positive atmosphere and the supportive team Family Plus has to offer. I knew this was where I wanted to be from the start, and I feel fortunate to be part of such an extraordinary team of helping professionals.”
